Coenzyme Q10, also known as ubiquinone, is a molecule naturally present in the human body. It is found particularly in the mitochondria, intracellular structures involved in various biochemical processes.

The body is able to produce coenzyme Q10, but its synthesis may decrease with age or in certain physiological situations.

Coenzyme Q10 is often used in nutritional supplementation, particularly in its ubiquinone form, due to its stability and well-documented bioavailability.
