Chromium picolinate is involved in sugar metabolism!
Chromium picolinate is bioavailable and contains a maximum amount of chromium element per capsule.
Chromium contributes to :
- normal metabolism of macronutrients (proteins, sugars and fats)
- maintenance of normal blood sugar levels
LEPIVITS chromium picolinate is the organic form recommended for blood sugar disorders, high blood lipid levels (LDL, triglycerides) and for people with diabetes (diabetes I and II). Chromium helps to potentiate the action of insulin, to induce an increase in the number of insulin receptors and to improve the sensitivity of β-cells [1] .
Chromium may be recommended for the elderly, as chromium status decreases with age [2], due to decreased appetite, altered sense of taste, ageing of the gastrointestinal tract and reduced retention of chromium in the body.
