The main probiotics are lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus bifidus, lactobacillus casei, lactobacillus fermentum, lactobacillus plantarum, lactobacillus salivaroes, and lactobacillus bulgaricus. The former alone occupies 85% of the gastrointestinal space, but the highest concentrations are in the small intestine. The primary objective of these bacterial micro-organisms found in the digestive tract is to limit the proliferation of pathogenic micro-organisms that hinder the proper functioning of our body (indigestion and poor assimilation of nutrients, etc.).

Why add prebiotics to a food supplement?

Prebiotics are dietary carbohydrates also known as fructooligosaccharides (FOS). They cannot be digested by our digestive enzymes and will therefore not be absorbed by our digestive system. On the other hand, they provide essential food for the bacteria in our intestinal flora and will improve the action of probiotics.
